 Rules of RPing in ITS (Must read before joining!)
« Thread Started on Jan 8, 2005, 11:48pm »

These rules must be obeyed. Punishment is dependant on the severity of the offense.

Basic Rules

1) No Godmoding- That is, no being invincible or having 'godlike' powers. This is bannable on the third offense.

2) No powerplaying, or controlling another's character. More on this in the 'fighting rules' section.

3) There will be no perfect characters. I have no tolerance for these and will delete your mary-sue/gary-stu.

4) THIS CANNOT BE STRESSED ENOUGH! BE LITERATE! This site was made for experienced roleplayers, and well written ones. You MUST follow the rules of grammar, including capitalization, punctuation, and quotation marks. NO EXCEPTIONS!

5) No chatspeaking or text talk. This applies OOC as well as IC.

6) Use "this" for talking, not This or "This" or even This.

7) All posts must have thought behind them and be at least four sentences in length. NO SPAM! This WILL get you deleted, so that if you are trying to get your post count up, it's kind of counter productive.

8) To prove that you have read the rules of In The Shadows, kindly put at the end of your application, the secret phrase. You will find all three words hidden in the General Rules- they will stand out.

Rules for Joining

*see Getting Started*

Dragon Rules

1) If you are going to have a dragon character, keep them mildly relevant to the clan you chose. There are no 170 foot Sky Clan, and we all know it. On the other paw, there could be a 40 foot one. If your dragon is a little unusual and you are unsure if it's ok, just PM me.

2) Each dragon has strengths and weaknesses like any other creature. Abide by them.

Human Rules

1) Again, try to keep them relevant to their tribe. Misfits happen, but not in bulk.

2) Remember, a human going up against a dragon alone without some major advantage has little chance.

Subdragon Rules

1) Subdragons are RARE. Okay? I don't want five subdragons joining and only three other characters, just think- and for your help...

Wyverns= Semi Rare

Lindorms= Rare

Baskilisks= Very Rare

Half Draykes= Seldom Seen

Survival/Fighting Rules

1) Hunting prey animals is fine, hunting someone's character and killing them without permission is not.

2) In battle, no powerplaying except possibly to say something small, like a flesh wound or a push- but avoid if at all possible.

3) Try to work out the battle's winner beforehand if you can so as to avoid fueds.

4) If a character dies, s/he's dead. You can always make another.

5) Unless you feel up to making the trip to the Lake of Solace, a dangerous, demanding journey, you have to heal yourself.

Rules concerning life spans, breeding, etc.

Force-breeding can happen, just like anywhere, it's dangerous.

If your character and another character want to have a child- ITEM 1, they must be the same species. The only exceptions are half draykes can breed with dragons and humans, and a human and a dragon in human form can breed.
ITEM 2- There must be someone willing to roleplay as the child, when the child comes of age to move independantly. In humans, children are seperately roleplayed starting around age five, in dragons, around age ten (human years) is when they become aware and independant. Time functions a little strangely (after all, ten real life years is a long time to wait), but no less than a week per year may be allotted.
ITEM 3- Humans are able to breed around the age of fifteen, dragons at ten draconic years. (1500 human years)
ITEM 4- Ok, so everything is in order, then? PM an admin for permission, if you are granted it (you must fufill items 1-3) you will be sent a message including your new baby's

Gender:
Species:
Hair/Scale color:
Eye color:
Magical aptitude (1-10):

If you chose to employ your human character as a prostitute, you may recieve one of these unexpectedly, as there are dangers in breeding for a living.
